Customer Requirement:

A gold mining company in Indonesia needed replacement carbon for three CIL adsorption tanks. They required coconut shell media with high hardness, a gold loading capacity test report before order confirmation, and jumbo bag packaging to match their on-site bulk handling equipment. As an Activated Carbon Manufacturer with CIL-grade supply experience, we submitted a technical proposal within 48 hours.

Product and Specification:

We supplied Coconut Shell Activated Carbon: 6×12 mesh, iodine value ≥1100 mg/g, gold loading capacity ≥8.0 kg Au/t, hardness ≥97%, ash ≤3%, moisture ≤5%, fines ≤0.5%. Total volume was 16 tons packed in 500 kg FIBC jumbo bags — 32 bags in one 20ft container. All parameters were confirmed in the purchase order before production.

Application Requirements:

The carbon runs in a continuous CIL circuit. Key requirements: high gold loading capacity per tank volume, high hardness to resist attrition under agitation, and low fines to prevent gold loss through inter-stage screens. The media also needed to sustain performance across multiple elution and reactivation cycles.

Solution and Quality Control:

We dispatched a 2 kg sample with full test data; the customer confirmed approval within 12 days using their own pregnant leach solution. Production followed coconut shell charcoal inspection, steam activation and acid washing. Each 4-ton lot was tested before filling into jumbo bags.

Packaging and Delivery:

Each 500 kg FIBC bag had a PE inner liner, top fill spout, bottom discharge spout and UV-resistant outer fabric. Thirty-two bags were floor-loaded into one 20ft container with dunnage bags for transit stability, Tianjin to Surabaya. The customer reported smooth discharge, attrition within target and gold loading consistent with the approved sample.
