Columnar Activated Carbon For Desulfurization

Columnar activated carbon impregnated with potassium hydroxide (KOH) or sodium hydroxide (NaOH) is an effective filter medium for desulfurization in various industries, including the petrochemical, gas processing, and power generation industries. Desulfurization is the process of removing sulfur compounds from fluids such as natural gas, crude oil, and other hydrocarbons.

Specifications

Spec Unit Data
Particle size mm 4
Moisture % <10
Compressive strength Mg/g 800-900
Ash content % <10
Hardness % >97
Bulk density kg/m3 400-500

Application

Activated carbon impregnated with alkaline solution can be used for dry desulfurization. Because this activated carbon contains HO2 and NH3, physical adsorption and chemical action occur simultaneously during the desulfurization process, which can achieve a fast and efficient desulfurization effect.

Tips

Impregnated columnar activated carbon is mainly used for fine desulfurization in the later stage, and iron oxide can be used for coarse desulfurization before the activated carbon. And activated carbon desulfurization needs to be carried out under aerobic conditions.
